add a server from a tree to another

I have novell 6 service pack 5 for my servers S1, S2 and S3.

The servers S1 and S2 are into a tree, while S3 is on the another tree.

Is it possible to move the Server S2 into the tree where is the server S3
without re-install the server S2?

thanks for all.
Regards,
Monica

Re: add a server from a tree to another

Remove DS from S2, and then add DS again pointing it at the tree S3 is in.
The options are tucked away in NWConfig.

I can do it by nwconfig - directory options - remove directory service.
Is it correct?

To install it, I must select install directory onto this server?
Is it correct?

Yes to both.

Re: add a server from a tree to another

Removing directory services from within NWConfig will both remove any
replicas from that server and also let all the other servers know that the
replicas have been removed. This stops the other servers trying to contact
the removed server

Thanks.

I have done the remove but there are still the objects of my server in
the tree.
I can only delete these objects manually. Is it correct?
Is there a list of these objects in order not to forget of one ?

Thanks for all.

Re: add a server from a tree to another

You can safely delete the old server objects, once you've remove Directory services from that server. Basically, anything with that server's name can safely be deleted.
