antinvirus exclude data store if encryption enabled

hi,

do it MUST exclude the ifolder data store in server antivirus program if the encryption enabled?
cause the data is encrypted, would antivirus detect the encrypted file as virus?

Thanks/KEN

I suggest you exclude it as there is no point in scanning it. Your AV
will not detect any virii there as they are encrypted.

Re: antinvirus exclude data store if encryption enabled

hi,
I want exclude too, cause the Symantec SAV linux 10.0.10 can't exclude whatever I try many times. So, if can't exclude, would it be a problem that will AV scan encrypted file as virus? than quarantine the encrypted file in iFolder datastore?

Thanks

Possibly, but you need to ask Symantec. Also I find it very odd that you
cannot exclude files. I suggest you take that up with Symantex as I regard
it as a major flaw in their software.
