change default folder for user files

Hello,

I would like to change the default folder location (on sys) to another

volume on the server. We are running NW6 sp3 and iFolder 2.1 and eDir
8.7.1

I found a TID for iFolder 1 - is it the same procedure?

thanks!
Oksana

Yes and no. You can edit the config files in 2.x, buty using the GUI
admin
interface is cleaner.

Re: change default folder for user files

Thanks Anders, I will use the GUI. Do the changes go into the config

files or somewhere else (like an XML file) when you use the GUI?

Yes. Some of it is in the config file, some is in eDirectory.

Re: change default folder for user files

Hi Anders,

I've looked at the GUI (we're using ver. 2.1 on NW 6 sp3.) and I can't

see where to change the default location of the files on the server.
I
think before I did see somewhere I could make this change. Can you
point me in the right direction?

Oksana

My 6.5 server is at work and not accessible through there firewall. I
can
check later. If you are in a hurry, just change the path in the config

file.

Re: change default folder for user files

No hurry. I want to get it all working correctly before it gets
released to the group here.

I figured if worse comes to worse I can modify the config files, I
just
try and do things the "right way" and "supported" way if possible.

Thanks!

You don't change it in the GUI> YOU stop iFolder, copy the files to
the
new location, and in the Apache config files that call the iFolder
stuff
you change the location.

See a previous thread where I mentioned the locations of the conf
files. Took less than 2 minutes to fond the first time, so you should

have no problem.

You may very well be right. I may have been mixing it up with the
install
where you can change the location in 2.x ( but not in 1.x)

Re: change default folder for user files

Hi All,

I unload apache, changed the config files and reloaded apache and
ifolder and it recognizes the new locations. I only have one problem

now - and it may be unrelated.. when I go to reporting on the first
server I set up, and select show info and select the second server I
set
up I can't receive any info about it - the error message I get is -
redirection failed. any ideas on this one? They have the same
contexts
for searching for users via ldap and ldap and SSL is working.

Thanks!

Oksana

No is that the exact error message? If you look at the edirectory
object for that server in consoleone, "other" tab. See anything out of

the ordinary?
