changing of Ethernet cards

I am running NW 6.5 Sp7 with Border Manager 3.9 Sp1. My server had 10/100 cards in it and I installed 2 new Intell Gigabit cards along with the 10/100 cards. Is there a way to take the bindings from the 10/100 cards and swap them to the new gigabit cards without reconfiguring the bindings?

Once they are swapped I planned on removing the 10/100 cards.

You can edit the sys:\etc\netinfo.cfg file and replace all occurrences of
the old card name with the new one. Just be sure to change the value
(checksum) in sys:\etc\netinfo.chk to 0, otherwise inetcfg won't accept the
netinfo.cfg file. Once done, make a minor change to example the comment for
one of the nics in inetcfg and exit. This will now have generated a new
checksum into netinfo.chk

i assume you mean the IP# and subnet and all that?

the easiest way is to print the sys:\etc\NETINFO.cfg and use the info
in there to configure the new cards.

Thanks for the information. Since I was scared I would screw something up, I just wrote down the information of each binding and recreated them. I am a little upset that Novell doesn't have a way that you can say unbind from ethernet card A and bind to Ethernet Card B. I am sure there is a reason for it but I was thinking that I could have all net cards in and do a quick switch over.

Why be upset? It's a trivial configuration edit. If you have the
printout of the config file, it's 5-10 minutes tops.

If the config is extremely complex, you can always do Niclas's trick.
But if the cards have different configuration options, you can get
caught out with that method (like forcing a 100full-duplex connection
and then switching to GB NICs, you'd need to edit that section out).
I've used it and it works but I prefer redoing the whole thing by hand.
