cluster rename

Hello All;

I have several NCS clusters defind in eDir, each with several OES 2015 SP1 servers (soon to be upgraded to OES 2018).

Can the cluster FQN be renamed?

eg: old name = cluster1.Provo.Novell
new name = CL-HQ-01.Provo.Novell

The OES servers within each cluster would still be the same.

Thank you.

I can't think of a reason off the top of my head. If we can rename it
within the cluster controls then it might be OK, but this isn't
something I'd want to do live without having tested in a lab.
And of course I just flushed the test cluster I had in my lab to make
space for some OpenStack training otherwise I could have had fun
abusing it before deleting, sigh.

How are you equipped for SR's? If you have lots of them, and no one
else pipes in here, it might be worth using one for that.

Re: cluster rename

Hello All;

The docs do not have a cluster rename process, so I don't think it's possible.

The docs have a process to rename a resource, volumes and others, but not the cluster itself.

It may be possible but not without some headaches.

Maybe Micro Focus can add this function to the next SP or release.

Thank you.
