error -6038

I have a NW 6.5 sp5 server.
Upon attempting to open ConsoleOne, I kept receiving the following error
when trying to walk the tree, down to the needed container: "Unknown
meaning for error - 6038. Contact Novell support". Restarted my PC and
tried once again to open ConsoleOne, still no good. Then I attempted to
run DSRepair on NW 6.5 but the application hung. the server then received
the following ERROR: Critical sectioning prevents requested FATFS
operation.

Any suggestion?

-6038 ERR_CLOSING_DATABASE

This is an NDS error. My guess is that one some server, DS.NLM is in some
limbo state and ConsoleOne tries to access that particular server.

Well, a stuck DSREPAIR would certainly cause the issue.

This typically is an issue with the disk driver / controller. It most
often occurs with Dell servers and the PERC2.HAM driver is you are not
useing the correct firmware and driver version.
What kind of hardware do you have? What disk controller? What driver?

it's a Dell 2850 with a PERC controller running PEDGE3.ham

I don't know if the PEDGE3 suffers from the same problems, but make sure
the firmware for your reaid controller is up to date and your driver too.
