/etc/novell-release showing wrong version

Jump to solution

Hello,

I have a server running OES 2018 but when I run

cat /etc/novell-release

the output is incorrect. This is what I see for the results

Novell Open Enterprise Server 11 (x86_64)
VERSION = 11
PATCHLEVEL = 0

It's worth noting that this server was upgraded from OES 11 SP2 awhile back. Anyone have any suggestions on how to properly fix this? Thanks!

And are you sure the update completed succesfully without error(s)? And is this really OES2018 without SP1?

You can check like this:

rpm -q --whatprovides /etc/novell-release
Open_Enterprise_Server-release-2018.1-1.367.x86_64

Thanks for the reply @mrosen !

Just upgraded to OES 2018 SP1 and now the results from cat /etc/novell-release are what they should be. Thanks!
