iFolder 2.0 on NW5.1sp5 & eDIR8.7 Problems

I've been struggling trying to get iFolder functioning for over a week

and have hit my limit. I've read through hundreds of TID's & messages

on here with no luck.

The server we installed to is running NW5.1 SP5 & eDIR8.7 &
BM3.6EESp1.
It has two nics:
10.3.X.X connecting to our internal network, and 192.168.X.X
connecting
to a FireBox, then out to the internet. The Firebox's public IP is
24.166.X.X.

I can connect to the iFolder Admin server
(https://24.166.X.X:443/iFolderServer/Admin) without a problem. I can

log in and manage the server/users/etc. Issue #1: When I check
System
monitoring, under the iFolder Server section, it lists the server name

(not an IP) and says server not responding. I've tried changing the private info on the iFolder Server page in the Global settings and
cannot get this to display server status.

Issue #2: When trying to access the iFolder webpage (not the admin),

the users get the Test Page for Apache Installation, and not the
iFolder
page where they can download or login.

Can anyone help me out so I don't start on my 3rd bottle of Advil and

revert to drinking?

Thanks!!!
Larry

Check to see which port iFolder is listening on, if something else was

at port 80, I believe it tries to set at 51080 or 52080 when you
install. I believe it is in the http_additions_nw.conf
<VirtualHost server.host.com:port#>

Re: iFolder 2.0 on NW5.1sp5 & eDIR8.7 Problems

That looks good to me, pretty much what I show on mine (except for the

last line, and the fact I have version 1.03)

You could check the html documents in the server folder
SYS:\apache\iFolder\DocumentRoot
SYS:\apache\iFolder\Server would be where the .conf files are

Do you have the same problem with other browsers? Mozilla, Netscape,
Opera?

Beyond that, I'm afraid you'll have to wait for someone else to
answer.

Re: iFolder 2.0 on NW5.1sp5 & eDIR8.7 Problems

Unfortunately, all browsers (IE & Netscape) are acting the
same....maybe
that is a good thing. It almost appears that the problem is in the http_additions_nw file and how the IP/DNS names in the <virtual host>

parameters are set. For the life of me, I cannot seem to find the
correct combination to have the index.html file in the
iFolder/DocumentRoot to be the default for the public 24.166.X.X
address.....especially when the Admin Page seems to work great.

Re: iFolder 2.0 on NW5.1sp5 & eDIR8.7 Problems

I did try 2.0 for a bit, but because only at DS 8.6... it wouldn't
work
in our environment, but when I was trying it, I had no problems with
it
loading the web pages. But I also was running on alternative ports
instead of 80 and 443. Maybe give that a try?

Re: iFolder 2.0 on NW5.1sp5 & eDIR8.7 Problems

Mike:
I took your advice and it worked! I also had to reconfigure the
iFolder server on the admin page. Since we are behind a firewall/NAT

box, the top section for Public needed to be the private IP address
and
ports. Once I did that, it worked. Thanks a bunch for your
assistance!

Re: iFolder 2.0 on NW5.1sp5 & eDIR8.7 Problems

Glad it worked.
Depending on you have the NAT/firewall setup you may to make some
changes to some of the pages as craig mentions on his tips site
http://nscsysop.hypermart.net/ifolder.html
in order to access from the internet. I used DNS name for the server
