iFolder 3.8.0 asking for an update to 3.8.4

Hello,
My client of iFolder 3.8.0 asking for update to 3.8.4.
When I'm pressing "yes" to update, then nothing happens.
Does anybody know where new client can be downloaded?
OS: Windows 7 x64.
All the Best,
Miumi.

The iFolder server will have a link to client software (on the left hand side of things) from the server's welcome page on the default IP address of the server. Under client software it should list a 64 bit download for iFolder.

Um, if it's an OES server anyway.

Re: iFolder 3.8.0 asking for an update to 3.8.4

The clients on my OES server are located in /srv/www/novell/ifolder3/ and /opt/novell/ifolder3/lib/simias/web/update/. Why don't you fire up locate or find on the server and look for "x64.exe" as that will seek out the windows x64 client at the very least?

Hello Andrew,
I found only following links:
./usr/lib64/simias/web/update/windows/ifolder3-windows.exe
./usr/lib64/simias/web/update/windows/ifolder3-windows-x64.exe
But they are just links, files does not exist.

iFolder server was installed from Suse package.
Heh, client still asking for update to 3.8.4...

According to iFolder.com the latest version of the client is available
via
http://sourceforge.net/projects/ifolder/files/iFolder%20Clients/3.8.0.3/ifolder3-windows.exe/download
which suggests 3.8.0.3 might be the latest version freely available
(3.8.4 is included in the commercial OES2 SP3).

Let me ask Novell if there are plans to add 3.8.4 to the open source
project ...

Re: iFolder 3.8.0 asking for an update to 3.8.4

It seems to me that Novell is possibly in violation of the GPL. 3.8.0 was released under GPL and so the update, and source code must be released. When will it happen?

Version 3.8 is the latest version and files, including source code, can
be downloaded via the iFolder project download page @
http://www.ifolder.com/download

What is currently missing are the very latest client updates but then
there are some reported issues with those included with OES2.

Re: iFolder 3.8.0 asking for an update to 3.8.4
Hi
The source code is available here;
NOVELL: Support - Source Code of the Patches for Maintained Products
Have opened the link you gave, but I was asked for a password to download sources.
May I get compiled 3.8.4 client for Windows 7 x86 somewhere?

This username & password required is that set when creating a Novell.com
account.

malcolmlewis was responding to john_es's message re possible GPL violation.

I'm still waiting to hear from Novell when the updated open source
iFolder clients will be (or have been) released.
