iFolder 3 on SLES 9

According to the iFolder 3 Admin documentation, SLES 9 SP3 is a supported
platform for iFolder 3. However, after installing, the configuration won't
run saying it can't "Import NovellUtils". Looking at some TIDs there
should be a NovellUtils.ycp file on my system but there isn't.

Are there additional steps required to get this running on SLES?

Thanks in advance,

Troy,

This must be some sort of error in the doc or some confusion in how it
is stated. iFolder 3.2 and earlier requires OES linux to work properly.
OES of course requires SLES 9 which may be the source of the confusion
in how the doc is written.

iFolder 3.5 server can be run on SLES 9 without any OES components.
Perhaps that is what you are looking for?

Check out the howto:

Re: iFolder 3 on SLES 9

Your assumption on the confusion is correct!! 😉

I did get iFolder 3.5 working in a VMWare SLES 9 box so now I'm going to
try to port that to my production setup.

Thanks!

Re: iFolder 3 on SLES 9

Troy,

Glad to have been of help. Keep in mind that 3.5 is still under
development and may not be suitable for production. Also, you must use
the 3.4 client with the 3.5 server.
