iManager: Just the "Cluster Manager" doesn't work any more.

Hi.

This is a retired system, a just two node cluster. I should check to
get hold of some old files.

login to iManager (using the original "Admin") works fine, all "Roles
and Tasks" as well, except "Cluster Manager", when selecting the
cluster object, it takes some 15 seconds, then I receive the message:

-------------------------------------------------------------------
Error: Clustering Error

File Protocol error occurred: cannot open the NCS version file on the
selected cluster. The Cluster software may still be running on this
server.
-------------------------------------------------------------------

tail -f /var/log/messages gives this output at the same time:

-------------------------------------------------------------------

and

didn't help me so far.

As the Cluster Resources can be loaded / migrated through a PuTTY
session to the cluster nodes, this is not really critical, but
amazing...

Any suggestions, what to investigate?

TIA.

Regards, Rudi.

Rudi,

check the server certificates. Looks like they expired. Recreate them in iManager and see if the related stuff comes up again. That's namcd and NSS.

There's also a bug (not sure if that's the OP's issue or not). See TID 7015980. I think you still have to contact NTS and open an SR to get the updated .jar file, as I don't think it's been released into the patch channel yet.

This patch was released in the December 2014 hotpatch.
See TID7014420 for details and check for Bug 908537.

The manual solution (removing the certs from the faulty location) could always still be applied.

Thanks
