iManager problem

I am getting the following error when I try to manage "My Resources" in iManager 'The requested service was not found or is not assigned to you.[ncs.Monitoring]'. When I try to manage "My Cluster" I just get a blank frame in iManager.

Has anyone else had this issue?

I am running OES 11 SP1 and iManager 2.7.6 on SLES 11 SP2.

Thanks.

Did this work previously or this a new cluster?
If it work previously, what changed?
Does this happen on iManager on all nodes?
Does this happen with other admin IDs?
Have you done an eDir health check to take that out of the equation?

Re: iManager problem

Yes it worked before. I have just done routine patches. It does not work on any server running iManager. It does not matter who is logged in and eDir is healthy.

Interesting. Last time I had seen such a behaviour, it as on just a
single instance of iManager back on OES2. Perhaps one of those patches
broke something on all of them, though I don't have any clients
currently on NCS on OES11 to compare. Next thoughts are to check the
logs, especially the ones in /var/opt/novell/tomcat#/logs, though
/var/log/apache2/*_log and /var/log/messages are worth looking as well.

Re: iManager problem

The only thing the logs are showing is in access_log, however the ncs.Monitoring seems to be missing. Here is the line from the log.

10.100.0.11 - - [08/Oct/2013:14:05:47 -0500] "GET /nps/servlet/frameservice?taskId=ncs.Monitoring&nextState=ClusterItemPage&nssConnect=true&ncsClusterName=501cluster.TPS&itemName=FTPVOL_SERVER HTTP/1.1" 200 8099

gut feel is that there is a snap in problem. I might be worth going through the full cycle of removing and
reinstalling the cluster snap-ins on one instance of iManager.
If that doesn't do the trick, this may well be worth a Service Request with Novell.

Re: iManager problem

I will try the remove and reinstall at a later date. I was able to edit the scripts in ConsoleOne. Thank you for your help.

Re: iManager problem

I fixed this problem by going in to RBS Configuration and modifying the tasks "Cluster Event Log" "Cluster Manager" and "Cluster Options" by adding them to the "Clusters" Role Assignment. All works as it should now.
