ifolder not working

Just moved the CA to a new server, not the iFolder server, Upgraded
the nici
to 242 and installed SP3 and the 14 hot fixes to our Netware 6
servers.
iFolder now does not let me log in. Not sure what broke it. It does
show that
it cannot connect to the ldap server in the apache screen but
everything else
is loaded fine. Any suggestions?

Are you using the cleartext LDAP port or encrypted?

IFolder simple troubleshooting steps:
1. iFolder 2.x needs eDirectory 8.6.2 or better for LDAP. It will not
work with
NW 5.1 DS 8.82 for example.
2. Check that the admin name in the iFolder server config file is
correct
3. Use the clear-text LDAP port for troubleshooting
4. Have iFolder log its screen to a file (below)
5. Turn on LDAP tracing on the LDAP Server/Group Object
6. LOAD DSTRACE. Turn off everything and turn on LDAP, then try to log
in.
7. Does it work if you bypass the proxy in your browser?

Note on 4:
Change startifolder.ncf to read:
LOAD ADDRESS SPACE = IFOLDER APACHE -s -f
SYS:APACHE\IFOLDER\SERVER\HTTPD.CONF
(all on one line)

Re: ifolder not working

Anders,

Thanks for the quick reply. We are a 8.6.2 Sp4 NW6 shop using iFolder
1.03. I
got past the LDAP issues but now it will not authenticate and when I
go
through NRM to manage iFolder I get LDAP server down still. Nothing on
the
trace screen either.

I did reexport the certificate and copied it to the iFolder directory
and
public to make sure. Nothing has worked yet though.

Note that if the admin name/names are wrong in the ifolder conf file,
then it
will not even try to access LDAP.

Re: ifolder not working

Sorry I missed answering that. The Admin names are all correct. That
has not
changed. I am going to bounce the server again here to see if the
changes
help. I have been loading and unloading it while troubleshooting.

Re: ifolder not working

Well I think I got it. Recreated both Certs and LDAP objects and
things seem
to be happy again.

Thanks for all the help I just needed to spend more time. The
information you
send was great though and will add that to my trouble shooting
documentation,
ever notice that Netware's documentation pile is a fraction of
Microsoft's?
And mine goes back to 3.11.

Then there must have been something wrong with the certs. Damaged or
expired.
