memory leak tools

I need to troubleshoot memory leak on a specific NLM.

Does anybody know a tool I can run to determine some type of memory usage
or memory leak ?

I heard someone mention about segmem or segment ...?

Re: memory leak tools

NetWare 6.5 SP4a and SP5 memory tuning -- for servers with greater than
2G of memory.

Download seg.nlm, run, output a segstats.csv

http://www.novell.com/coolsolutions/tools/14445.html

Note, the references there are to NetWare 5.1 and 6.0, but seg.nlm also
runs on 6.5.

Download memcalc from Cool Solutions:

http://www.novell.com/coolsolutions/tools/17101.html

Then, read article, feed segstats.csv into memcalc, apply suggestions

For some more background on memory handling read this article (from the
first
release memcalc documentation on cool solutions):

Re: memory leak tools

What types of memory leak are there?

If you have a memory leak, the leaking module needs to be updated,
that's it. How have you identified this is your problem?

SEG.nlm can track changes in the memory allocations of modules.

NRM can show you the specific memory allocations a module makes.

Do you know you have a memory leak - and if so in what module? Or do you
suspect one?
