migrate files with miggui to a virtual server

not able to transfert files to the clustered server with the miggui tool. When you call the tool from the physical server, it won't let you choose the clustered server as the target so you are not able to choose the volumes served by the clustered resource.

target:

SLES 10 sp2
OES2 sp1

source:

Thank you for your help

Re: migrate files with miggui to a virtual server

Well, for migrating clusters, one possibility might be to create a mixed cluster by adding the OES2/Linux nodes to your cluster before removing the NetWare nodes. In any case, I suggest you rather ask this in the cluster forum as migrating clusters is rather a different task compared to migrating normal servers.

unload tsafs.nlm on the NetWare server and load with the option tsafs
/nocluster. This will enable TSAFS to export all Volumes on the physical
server IP. Use the physical node IP as the source IP address in the
Migration Tools GUI and migrate the volume.

Re: migrate files with miggui to a virtual server

We narrow the problem, it's append only with the miggui graphical interface and the problem was only with destination volume larger than 1 Tera bytes. If your destination volume was created with more than one 1 Tera byte and you utilisize the graphical miggui tools to migrate data to that volume, when you came to choose that volume as the destination volume, it doesn't appear on the nss tab but if you go on nssmu and you put a quota on that volume ( less than 1 TERA ) and on the miggui you refresh the nss tab the volume appear and you are able to pick it.

I have a problem open with Novell on this.

I will keep you informed of the result.

Hi Trelo

The problem you reported is a separate one. But, yes I do agree that
while configuring FS having more than 1TB volume is not viewed/displayed
in the UI. This issue has come to us through NTS folks and we have
provided the fix. The fix is not with migration but ncpcon. So you need
to install novell-ncpserv-xxx.rpm which will be released ASAP as a
patch. So I can say that 1TB issue is fixed.

Thanks,
Ramesh

Any idea when this patch will be made available to the public?
I'm in the middle of a NW 6.5 sp7 to OES2 SP1 Linux migration with about 5 of the volumes larger than 1 TB.

Thanks for any info.
