modified timestamp

Hi all,

on my volumes with FS Reiser the modified timestamp will not be set when
saving a modified file (with word, excel etc.)

stat [filename] from linux shows:
Access: Saving Time (ok)
Modify : Creation-Time (not ok)
Change: Saving Time (not ok)

IS this an NCP bug?
(OES SP1 with all patches applied)
(with NSS-Volumes timestamp is ok)

Karl

Re: modified timestamp

I believe you are seeing a MS "trick" to speed up file writes.
MS at one point stopped doing modified timestamp updates - either to speed
things up or to cause problems for 3rd party developers?? or I have no idea
why.

I got back timestamp updates by using Novell client 4.9 on NSS.

So it might be an MS thing. My best guess.
