password LDIF import

Hi guys,

I have the tool ICE in mind, but willing to try something else on
recommendation.

I am trying to import user passwords, and while I have used ICE to modify
other user attributes am not really too sure on what attributes the
password is stored.

Can anyone suggest some tips or direct me to a great URL ?

Cheers,

Re: password LDIF import

I'm just looking at the format.

dn:cn=********,ou=xxx,ou=yyy,o=zzz
changetype: modify
delete: userpassword
userpassword: *******

How do you get this working with ice? I've dumped all of our current
users down to file and the format is very different in comparison.

Cheers,

Re: password LDIF import

I'm trying to get this happening via csv DELIM file format.

I've exported cn names in one column and am hoping it's as easy as
creating another column and calling this userpassword. Please advise.

A standard LDIF file for importing data is:

version: 1

dn: cn=....
changetype: modify
userpassword: ....

dn: cn=....
changetype: modify
userpassword: ....

.... and so on ...

And you use ICE to import the file. (This is assuming you authenticate
as Admin or equivalent.)
