purging volumes

After purging the Users Volume, the "Purgeable Space" shown in the Novell
Volume Statistics tab in Users Volume properties shows no decrease in KB
size. After purging the other two volumes in the directory, the
"purgeable space" of those volumes returns to 0 KB. Any explanation?

Re: purging volumes

Andrew,
Version 7.00 SP5C 17 Jun-04 (Build 12587). I don't believe any post-SP NSS
patches have been applied.

The current version of NetWare is 6.5, there is no 7.00. Nor is there
any SP5c. Just do VERSION on the console; what NW and SP version shows
up there?

Andrew - The version is Novell Netware 6.5 support pack revision 01. The
version 7 info I initially gave you was obtained from the console but
actually referred to the backup software. Sorry about that.

Re: purging volumes

OK, you need to apply nw65sp5a, nw65os5a and n65nss5a*, then do

nss /poolrebuild /purge

against all pools. Make sure you have a tested backup, just in case.

* you can do this in one step by copying all the files in the last two
patches over the same files in the SP, and burning it onto a custom CD
to install the SP from.
