"New" update for CIFS made me unable to add share

yesterday I updated one of my servers to latest updates (its OES2 SP3 32bit). I have a script there to add CIFS shares on-demand with "novcifs". In old version, everything worked fine, but from yesterday, Im unable to add cifs share with path longer than 75 characters (strange number for me). With iManager, Im able to add that share without any problem, but thats actualy not a solution for me.

Can you help me with that? I didnt found a thing about this issue.

novcifs -sap long_path -n sharename -m 0 -c "sharecomment"
Failed to add share
Invalid path name. Path name must not exceed 75 characters long

Thanks for any help

I haven't heard of anything like that with CIFS before, however, OES 2 is considered out of support. I am unsure if you have the August patch on. If not, you can try it. If so, you can backrev CIFS to the previous version easily enough (remove the current version and install the old one, found at

Looking through the maintenance patches (via that link) will likely take you to the next oldest version.

For x86_64 here is the Aug patch:
Here is the previous (July 2013):
