reinstall problems

Hi guys,

I had OES installed and running without any hassles. Every hardware was
detected and operational.

After I reinstalled because of a DirXML mess up I am finding the
installation has found problems with certain (stanbard) applications cannot
be found or installed. I cannot remember the exact error message. I was
very surprised.

Has anyone else experienced this? If so, what is the issue, is it the
partitioning?

I made a 2Gb swap partition and a / partition. Is this all thats required.

Any comments appreciated.

Did you make sure that you reformatted the partitions during the second
install?

Re: reinstall problems

I was pretty sure I did, can you confirm where I do this?

The errors I am receiving are:

* error occurred while copying packages from the source CD to the disk
cache

* cpio-2.5-324.1.i586 failed

* efont-unicode-0.4.0-630.1.noarch failed

* novell-iprint-server-5.0.20050214-1.i586 failed

* no dialog existing during userInput() Please check the log file!

Yet the first installation on the same hardware gave me no problems. All
following installations have resulted in these errors.

I hope these errors can give you more insight to what I am experiencing.
