rug error

Hi their,

I've installed a fresh OES Linux Server last week and want to patch the server by using

rug pin oes:*

The download is starting and a few minutes later the download abort with the following message:

"Download failed: IO error (https://update.novell.com/data/$RCE/oes/getPackage/oes-linux-i586/kernel-debug-2.6.5-7.151.i586.rpm)"

any idea?

faithfully

Christian

Re: rug error

I see this:

> "Download failed: IO error

Constantly. I'll check for patches about once a week, since I haven't
had a chance to get an update server deployed, and the couple of OES
boxes I'm babysitting are still pending production, so there's no big
need yet.

I've found that it usually takes a good 3 or 4 attempts to get a
download started, and it will usually die in the middle, requiring
another attempt.

I'm doing one right now and it took 3 starts...

....and just died in the middle of the third attempt. Got to 99%,
too...Nice.

We've ruled out our firewall box. I wonder if Novell can provide a
status on whatever boxes are providing this service. Are they healthy?

Re: rug error

I see the same behavior here. Usually the third attempt gets everything working.
