upload/download using browser

I have iFolder 2.1.3 running on nw65sp2. Problem is that I can't upload
or download any files (any size) using browser. Clients work fine.
Netstorage is not installed. Is there anything I should do to be able to
upload/download.

Thanks

Re: upload/download using browser

After a lot of hit and miss I finally discovered that ifolder will not work with
any Sun JVM above v1.4.1.2. It works fine with the MS JVM.
In IE, tools, options, advanced, uncheck the Sun java client and restart
IE. It will use the default MS JVM now. Try uploading and downloading now.
I found a copy of the Sun JVM 1.4.1.2 on the Sun.java website, but I have not tried it yet.

As you have found, there are java dependencies involved. Novell
doesn't want to support multiple java versions for the web client, so
they have stopped supporting the web client entirely. You are supposed
to use Netstorage if you want to download via a browser now.

Or go iFolder 3, which has a very nice non-java web client.

Re: upload/download using browser

Hello,

I have heard that, but I cannot get iFolder to work though Netstorage. It keeps asking for
a passphrase. I put the passphrase in and a message says refresh the window. Now I get
the passphrase request all over again. I have tried several TIDS, 10075168 and 10075429 to no avail.
Any other suggestions would be welcome

upload/download using browser

I just ran into a situation where I couldn't do downloads. Poking around I
found a new setting in the latest IE, 6.0.2900. This new setting is under
Tools, Internet Options, Security, Internet, Custom Level. Look for a
section named Downloads. This section has had "File download" and "Font
download" settings before. The latest IE adds "Automatic prompting for
file downloads". This was set to Disable. I changed it to Enable and my
problem went away. This worked on 2 machines having the download problem.
Both machines also had the Google toolbar installed. It was set to block
popups in general but my iFolder site was on the list of sites that were
allowed to use popups. Still, I suspect it was involved in some way but
don't know that for sure.

For what it's worth, I have the latest Java installed. It is causing me
problems with other things but doesn't seem to bother iFolder as far as
getting to files and up or downloading them. That's about all I've done so
it might affect iFolder things I haven't tried.

Thanx.

I have tried this, but still can't upload/download.

Will do a install of Netstorage and see what happens.

Thanx again

Re: upload/download using browser

Thanks for the tip, but it did not fix my problem. I seems amazing that so many people
can be having the same problem, but all with different solutions.
