glance output redirection

Jump to solution
Hi,

I am trying to redirect the output of glance using the following command.

"glance -A -adviser_off -f /tmp/glance.txt".

It is writing the output to the file /tmp/glance.txt until the file size reaches 345799 and then no more data is written to the file.
Can somebody suggest me what could be the reason for glance to stop logging the messages to the output file?

Thanks for your help.

Srinivas.

It looks like from the man page for glance that the default maximum screens it prints (either to a file or to a printer is 200. you probably will have to use the
-maxpages numpages
parameter on the command.

(see below - excerpt from man page

-p [dest] This option indicates that the continuous Print option
should be enabled when the tool starts. This can be
useful for printing screens automatically over a long
interval. The output will be directed to the default
lp device, unless the dest parameter is supplied. Once
GlancePlus is running, another p command toggles the
continuous print off.

-f dest This option indicates that the continuous Print option
should be enabled when the tool starts. This can be
useful for printing screens automatically over a long
interval. The output will be directed to the specified
destination file. Once GlancePlus is running, another
p command toggles the continuous print off.

-maxpages numpages
This option changes the maximum number of pages that
can be printed with the p command. The default maximum
is 200 pages.
