is there an api to do this? Does it also update thresholds as counters are updated?

I fully support this API and have opened a "me too" ER for this for a long time.  We use WRM and URM for monitoring Logical Disks and Unix FileSystems, respectively.

We montior about 60,000 host OSes, and we need the API that will allow us to

1. Add a counter (e,g, a new Filesystem has been added and the counter and a threshold needs to be added to the existing monitor)

2. Remove a counter (e,g, a new Filesystem has been removed and the counter and a threshold needs to be remove in an existing monitor)

3. Question from users or developers who want the api to retrieve the counters that are currently configured on the monitor.

4. Use the api to check what counters CAN be retrieved, versus what counters have been selected to be monitored.
