Add Option/Action To Create New Event in Time Based Automation Rules

Brief Description:

We would like an create new event action in time based automation rules similar to the create new event action available in SBEC rules.

Benefits/Value:

We have a number of use cases where if event X does not clear or does not get updated in a certain amount of time then X gets escalated and group Y needs an event as well. One example is we have a time based automation rule that fires if an OO flow mapped to an event in OMi does not update the OMi event in a certain amount of time. We assume at that point that automation has failed so we escalate the original event to be worked manually and create a second event to send to the automation team to investigate the automation failure. If the flow fails we can get an event from the flow but if the flow fails to execute the time based automation catches it.

Design details:

Add a time base automation rule action to create a new event allowing field mappings from the original event.

Thanks for submitting the idea. In the use case example shared, could you not use the "forward event" or "assign event" actions along with the modify event to send the same event X to another group Y?

No that won't work unless I am misunderstanding your suggestion. We don't want to forward the event to another system, we want two events in the same OMi. The original event needs to be escalated because automation failed to run on the original problem and we want to create a second event for the automation failure itself.

We can use "run script" and hack something like maybe a REST call to OMi to create the second event but what I am asking for in this enhancement is the same option to create a new event that we have in SBEC.
