Add support for Operations Agent to support Redhat 8.0 and 8.1 on the Power platform

The most current SUMA form 16.1.2020 does not indicate support of Operations Agent 12.1x for Redhat 8.0 and 8.1 on Power platform.

The request is to add support for these two platforms to the Operations Agent.

Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8.x on IBM Power LE.

Having said that – what is the stance on mixed BE / LE environments – e.g. running a virtual LE (RedHat 8.x) OS on an IBM Power platform capable of running both (AIX) BE Lpars as well as RedHat LE Lpars ?

We have customers with very large IBM Power systems that can both run AIX (BE) OS's and Linux LE OS's. (LPARS). Would there be an issue in running an OM agent on an LPAR spun up on such a platform. Customers run, for example, SAP on AIX and need to move to Linux, but do not wish to replace the H/W platform due to costs.

No I dont think there is an impact; both the BE AIX as well as SLES PPCLE should work as expected
