OMI Automatic Failover Improvement

OMI Automatic Failover Improvement

•Brief Description •     OMI DPS servers should failover all HAC services to the same DPS even if failed DPS comes back up quickly.

•Benefits / Value •     This is beneficial because no manual intervention will be required if it works as mentioned below and save labor/time.

•Design details •     We noticed that if DPS1  goes down it starts failing over the HAC services to DPS2 but while failing over if DPS 1 comes back up, it leaves some HAC on DPS1 and we have to manually move all HAC to same DPS. OMI should have a mechanism to know that server that went down, came back up quickly and either should failover all services to DPS2 or bring back the moved services to DPS1 so no manual intervenation is required. After working with Microfocus support they said downtime should be atleast 10 mins for automatic failover to work correctly. HP/Microfocus also recommend that all HAC should be running on the same DPS.
