Jump to solution

Hi

I am using OBR 10.01 and we would like to give access to users which can view reports,

Can some one please provide procedure. I logged into CMC console and from there you can create users. But for report viewing what authorization/previledeges  needed so that they only can view but can't modify reports.

Hi Mukesh,

Follow the attached images in renamed order

step1 : Select user security for the folder which you don't want to see

step 2: Select the user for which you don't want to give access and click assign security

step 3: Click highlight Remove Access for top right corner and save.

Hope this clear your doubt.

Hi Mukesh,

Steps involved:

1.  Assign Security over folder under which you kept reports - > View and View on Demand

2. Repeat same for Universe and connection used by universe.

Hi Mukesh,

You can give access to all Out of the box reports.

First give access to the parent folder (Public Folder) which will gives access to all folder.

If you don't want your client to see those unncessary folder, then you might have to remove access from the folder which you don't want to see. Applying access directly over Opeartion Brdige Reporter folder won't help you. Access to parent folder is must.

Hi Mukesh,

Click over the any unwanted folder, -> Assign Securites -> Select the group/user which you added and you can see "Remove Access" on top right corner -> click it and save.

Repeat same for "Everyone"

 Thanks Nitin.

I tried to remove from CMS but looks like it did not get removed. I do not get save button.

I tried from CMS -> Folders --> Right click on Auditing --> User Security --> Selected the User --> Remove

But i only see close button. Not the Save button.

Hi Nitin,

I got that.  But don't we need to add security for ALL_FOLDERS first for the new user? If I have that then I am not able to change setting under individual folder which I do not want user to see.  The setting gets inherited from ALL_FOLDERS settings.

Hi,

Unless you give access to parent folder that property will not inherit to pperations Brdige Reporter which you looking for.
