Alert template of Sitescope - event log

Jump to solution

Hi,

I want to add description in the alert, so I check the properties for NTeventlog of alert templates. But I could not find a way to show the description in the alert.

I try to add /.*/ in Description match string, and get result in 'matchdetails' in result status. But I either could not add the matchdetail in the alert message.

I think there's a parameter maps the 'matchdetails'. But I could not find it.

Thanks and regards,

Robin

hi,

go to preferences-> select common event mappings.

click on default settings->edit event mapping

in that in Descript field give the below things.

'<<metric>>' crossed '<<thresholdCrossed>>' with value '<<metricValue>>'
<<MainStateProperties>>
<<thresholdCrossedFull>>
<<SecondaryStateProperties>>

If you want to do this for alert templates also.

Just edit alert template and in descript field just paste the above.

Hi,

Which version of sitescope you are using?

Here some of the attributes you can use in your sitescope template. in the below between ECounterDataTags and desc the middle one is the attribute you can use. Ex: metric, metricValue, oldStatus etc...

#Attributes description

#ECounterDataTags
ECounterDataTags.metric.desc =The name of the counter that triggered the event
ECounterDataTags.metricValue.desc =The counter's value that crossed a threshold and triggered the event
ECounterDataTags.oldStatus.desc =The status of the counter before crossing the threshold that triggered the event

ECounterDataTags.ciHint.desc =The SiteScope representation that will be used for resolving the related CI in the BSM RTSM, It will contain the SiteScope profile id and the instance Topaz id.\nIn case SiteScope is not connected to BSM, it will contain the monitor's target host FQDN.\nIf SiteScope is connected to BSM but the monitor does not report to BSM is will contain an empty string.
ECounterDataTags.subCiHint.desc =Information in this field is used to identify a sub-component of a CI (In SiteScope it is the metric), It will contain the SiteScope profile id and the instance Topaz id.\nThis CI sub-component is used to compute an aggregated status within BSM Service Health for selected CIs.\nIn case SiteScope is not connected to BSM, it will contain the metric name with some prefix.\nIf SiteScope is connected to BSM but the monitor does not report to BSM is will contain an empty string.
