Connector HA Policy for snmp traps

We have installed and configured 2 connectors the process snmp traps from NNMi to Ops Bridge.  We want to set up an HA policy.  My idea is to create a monitor to check the results of /opt/OV/bin/ovstatus and use a failed condition from that monitor to kick off the HA connector policy.  Any ideas would be appreciated.
