Help Needed on SiteScope .V2 logs.

Hello Experts,

Can someone help me with stopping v2 logs from generating ? i see two files ( sitescopeyyyy_mon_day and sitescopeyyyy_mon_day.v2) just wanted to stop sitescopeyyyy_mon_day.v2 logs. Can we do this in SiteScope?

Another thing which i wanted to know is, how can we make sitescope application to send SiS application status (Stopped, Started, Status) to email?

Thanks,

Hi,

V2 logs can't be stopped, you may delete them everyday and reports will be read from v1 files.

About the template question, please share details about monitor that gets the "App status"

It can send daily status and emails when monitors are disabled for skipping and/or restarts, these settigns are configurable in prefences.

What is the purpose of the v2 logs other than encryption?

Hi ADPRJ,

you should always open a new threed for a new question.

In any case,
the daily "v2" logfiles

SiteScope2018_10_29.v2.log (vs SiteScope2018_10_29.log)

(where "v2" actually this means "version 2")

have been created to be able to log all metrics for monitors with dynamic metrics, and more precise, to be able to handle monitors which report an unknwon number of metrics, as dynamic monitors do, at least the number is unknown until the meonitor is setup.

The manual states
(https://docs.microfocus.com/itom/SiteScope:2018.08/Use/log_files_page#.24filename.7C)

The daily logs are in the format:

• SiteScope<YYYY_MM_DD>.v2.log.
These logs contain more detailed monitor run results than the legacy logs.
• SiteScope<YYYY_MM_DD>.log.
  The legacy daily log files

In the same location in the documentation you can also find information about the daily logfile configuration.

Greetings
Siggi
