Need to change the SNMP trap IP on BSM as server is decommissioning

Jump to solution

Hello,

We have configured SMNP trap IP (Solaris Box) in infrastructure setting of BSM and while configuring any alert notification on monitor to send SNMP trap the IP gets reflect in global setting .

Now we are decommissioning the Solarix box and replacing with new Linux box, so IP is going to be change and port number will remain same. So only changing the IP address in infrastructure setting of BSM is sufficient or do we have to change the IP in each and every monitoring alert setting.

Solution : Only change of IP address in the infreastructure alert sertting is sufficient. The same IP will get reflect in all monitors which are set to "Use global SNMP target IPs". option. No need to do changes anywhere.!!

Hello mu4037,

When moving BSM to a new box the IP Address should be change, and so should be the laerts configuration and DataCollectors configuration as well.

Warm regards,

After new box the IP Address change,  need to change alerts configuration that might be needed.

But i don't think so we have to change datacollector configuration as well. can you ellaborate more on this steps
