OMW support for installation over windows 2012 R2 server and MS SQL 2012 server

Jump to solution

Dear colleagues,

I have the option of installing OMW over server 2012 R2 and MS SQL 2012 server or 2008

r2 server and MS SQL 2008 server.

Are there any known limitations or constraints for OMW isntallation on 2012 R2 and MS SQL 2012 server compared to windows 2008 R2 versions?

Will OMW loose any functionality when installing over 2012 R2 server and SQL 2012 R2 server?

Thank you and Best Regards,

Rabee

Hello

You can install OMW 9.0 on either OS and they are both fully functional and supported. The only issue is the way you do the installation. When you install OMW 9.0 on Windows 2008 R2 then you can use the OMW 9.0 Install media directly but when you install OMW 9.0 on Windows 2012 R2 then you got to use an installation patch to kick off the installation.

You can see more details in the Support Matrix about the exact installation patch number and also details on the patch readme itself about the pre-requisites.

Hope this helps.

Regards

Ram

Thank you RAM,

The installation from patch was successful on Windows 2012 and SQL 2012
