(OMi) Support TIP: What needs to be considered when there will be OBM IP change

Often customers want to migrate/move the OBM VMs to new Data Center. Questions that often arise are:

  1. If the VMs are moved with same IP Addresses and same FQDN will the OBM application get impacted?
  1. If the VMs are moved with different IP Addresses but Same FQDN what will be the impact? Is there any Best Practice or document in such cases that needs to be followed?

Answers to the Questions:

1- If the VMs are moved with same IP Addresses and same FQDN will the OBM application get impacted? If the IP and hostname are the same no changes are needed.

2- If the VMs are moved with different IP Addresses but Same FQDN what will be the impact? Is there any Best Practice or document in such cases that needs to be followed? One needs to follow the steps from the documentation for changing the OBM hostname or IP.
