OVO Agents on SLES 11.1 (11 SP1)

Jump to solution

Hello,

I'm trying to install Operations agent 11.00.044 on a SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11.1

And I get the following error:

[01/12/12 17:25:21] [oasetup] [oasetup] [INFO] Installing with the "rpm -i /home/elab/Linux2.6_X86/HPOvXpl.rpm" command
error: Failed dependencies:
    libstdc++.so.5 is needed by HPOvXpl-11.00.044-1.i586
    libstdc++.so.5(CXXABI_1.2) is needed by HPOvXpl-11.00.044-1.i586
    libstdc++.so.5(GLIBCPP_3.2) is needed by HPOvXpl-11.00.044-1.i586
    libstdc++.so.5(GLIBCPP_3.2.2) is needed by HPOvXpl-11.00.044-1.i586

I know  that libstdc++.so.6 exists but not libstdc++.so.5 in SLES 11.1.

We run OMW 8.60.16. I wonder is there any newer agents to install for SLES11.1 servers? And what are the newest version that work with OMW 8.60.16?

Hello Raboo

You need to install the package libstdc++33-32bit.

# zypper what-provides libstdc++.so.5
S | Name              | Type    | Version    | Arch   | Repository
--+-------------------+---------+------------+--------+-----------
i | libstdc++33-32bit | package | 3.3.3-11.9 | x86_64 | SLES11-SP1

(It is a shame that OA needs such a ancient library...)

Thanks Michael!

It worked...

Btw does anyone know which OS are supported by Operations Agent 11? And I cannot check the support matrix since I do not have a SAID contract id that I can enter in my HP Passport account. Are SLES 11.1 officially supported?

Hi All,

We have NOVELL SUSE Enterprise LINUX 11 64 bit.

Can i monitor it by installation of OA 11.03 ?

Does it supported by HP? I dont see Novell SUSE in SUMA, it simply says that SUSE Enterprise Linux 10 & 11 supported.

Any idea what is the difference between these 2 Novell SUSE and SUSE?

In our environment we are using these Novell SUSE Linux enterprise 11 for Novell Access Manager and Novell Open Enterprise Server

Your quick response is much appreciated

Thanks

Hello,

I can confirm that SUMA state that SLES 11 SP1 one is supported in 64bits OS with an x64 Processor

As far as I know there is a single SLES which is Novel so I do not think that there is a difference

Hope this helps
