SiteScope API

Dear all,

I've been asked to investigate a few details regarding management of my SIS`(remote creation, template deployment) via SOAP requests. Essentially, people just want to create a VM, trigger a script and have the remote and specified templates deployed in SiS(nothing too horrible).

From what I can pick up from the Public API Chapter, this should be a straightforward deal - has anyone done something like this and could give me a little insight on his/her problems that might have happened?

kind regards

It should not be hard. I recommend 2 things:

1. First test your templates (deploy) from SiS GUI and sort out all parameters needed.

2. Try not to rely completely in .bat/.sh example scripts. You can use SoapUI and API javadoc to build the XML for SOAP request, then POST this XML via cURL or any other scripting such Perl or Python. This method is more robust for special characters or raw XML in template parameters.
