Tools migration from OMW 8.1 to OMU 9.0

Jump to solution
Is there any way to migrate tools from OMW 8.1 (or 8.16) to OMU 9.0?
Policy conversion works well with the '/8x' parameter in 'ovpmutil'. I have tried using this parameter with tools download command also, but it does not work there.

Thanks,
Almir

If you are talking about the tools as an OM configuration, you might try to download them from OMW as a mof file and upload it with the help of

/opt/OV/bin/OpC/utils/mof_cfgupld.sh

I have never tried it, but I remember it from the OMW 8.16 webinar. So maybe it only works with OMW 8.16, just try it.

when we talking about tools, we mainly talking about instrumentations (OMw) and commands & actions (OMu).

i think you can try to copy the tools, from OMw instrumentations folders to instrumentations directory on OMu.

@Mohamed:
I need to convert a '.mof' file that you get on OMW when you download some tool group, to a file with different structure, used on OMU (applications.dat).

@Martina:
It seems that the tool 'mof_cfgupld.sh' is used for uploading service tree definition (stored in a .mof file on Win and in an .xml on Unix). I've checked the OMW 8.16 webinar, but there is nothing on this subject. Policy migration is, however, well explained. What I want is maybe not supported at all.

Thank you both very much!
