Using "Mapped" Values In Title

In an event policy I have, on the mappings tab, defined several map names that provide user-friendly names to the input data properties. For example, I have mapped <$DATA:/BSMConnectorEvent/group6> to the map name chain. In the title on the Defaults tab I have defined

<$MAP(chain)> in <$MAP(application)> on <$MAP(host)> status: <$MAP(error-status)>

However, when events come through I am getting the static text instead of the map converting to the contents of the mapped name. I believed I had the map defined correctly in the title (and other places) but it seems I have something wrong. Could someone advise what I have incorrect?

MAJ: <$MAP(chain)> in <$MAP(application)> on <$MAP(host)> status: <$MAP(error-status)>
