ping node up/down questions on node without agent or snmp
OML 9.10, NNMi 9.20
Nodes: No OM agent is available and SNMP is not enabled either
We want to ping nodes for up/down (appliance boxes).
Can we just use OML9 to do this or do we also need to add the nodes into NNMi9 as well?
Thank you,
Gino

You'll only need to add the node to NNMi if you'll be using NNMi to generate the node up/down events.
It can be done with OML alone, but bear in mind that OM won't automatically check the status of non managed nodes, so you'll have to create a monitor that pings your node from another managed node (which could be OML itself) and generate an alert that's asociated with the node you are pinging.
