unable to send email notification for db-spi query output every 5 minutes in hp omw due to duplicati
We have configured db-spi for one of the node to get db query output sceduled every five minutes in hp omw.
Alerts are getting triggered every 5 minutes in hpomw and it getting duplicated 30 times. We get email notification only once. Once the cycle of the duplicate (30 times) is over we get email notification.
Need ur help is there any work around.
Was this custom policy working before? If it did, what changes were done to it or at OMW level? Are you using the WMI forward as email message policy to trigger an email with the alerts created by this particular DB SPI policy or using another method (another automatic action to send an email) within this policy?
The policy is not including the duplicate messages as new. To check this, you can disable, momentarily, the global setting for duplicate message suppression. For this:
1. In the console tree, right-click Operations Manager, and then click Configure Server....
The Server Configuration dialog appears.
2. Click the Message Suppression tab.
3. Uncheck the Suppress and count duplicate messages check box.
Save the changes, all open MMC consoles and open it again. Wait for 10 minutes, the two alerts including the query output should arrive at the browser and should forward each in a separate email.
Take in consideration this setting affects all messages that arrive at OMW, so you might want to enable it back after the test.
If the problem persists then it will be necessary to check the code of the policy to see where it is set to discard the duplicates or find any other configuration that could be creating this problem.
It seems this policy is custom if that is the case we encourage you to check with the PSO rep that delivered this solution. We can help you guide to determine this and also if it is a problem with OMW itself via a support ticket.
