How to automatically Update user info into LDAP Server

I have created an LDAP server and Novell Operation centers creates user
thru LDAP connection.
I have two questions
1) If user changes password at Dashboard ,change is not occuring. User
cannot loging with new password, it still can login thru old password
only. Why is it happening?
2) If user changes password at Dashboard how to update the change in
LDAP Server ( i mean can Operation Center be configured to transmit
MODIFY requests to LDAP Server

1. Answer: the change password feature in the NOC dashboard is only
designed to change the password for a user that was created in NOC and
not an ldap user.
2. Answer: by default the NOC LDAP integration does not transmit a
Modify request to the ldap server. This could be modified but it would
take professional services.

Thankyou very much for your answer.
I need a bit more clarification on point no 2 i.e " by default the NOC
LDAP integration does not transmit a Modify request to the ldap server.
This could be modified but it would take professional services." what is
'Professional Servces'?
My company is a gold partner of NetIQ? Is it sufficient to get thr
professional services?

Re: How to automatically Update user info into LDAP Server

There is a functionality in Dashboard - -> Control panel - - -> portal
--> settings and then in the right hand side Authentication - - > LDAP.
after clicking on OpenLDAP there is a functionality 'export enabled'.
What does the 'export enabled' mean? Does this 'export enabled' mean
extension of Modify request to the LDAP Server?

Re: How to automatically Update user info into LDAP Server

Basically it would take someone who knows javasript and NOC to look at
what the change password portlet is doing and then make the necessary
adjustments to be able to modify the password back in LDAP.
Anyone who has the above knowledge should be able to perform the work.

Re: How to automatically Update user info into LDAP Server

Thanks a lot for your reply. I know java script a little bit but can't
find the source code where it is changing the password. If you are aware
of Dashboard then when after changing the password when user clicks Save
button then if goes to Constants.UPDATE , Where to find the
Constants.UPDATE codes?

The LDAP functionality you are talking about is part of the liferay
product, the product we use for the NOC dashboard. To learn the details
you are looking for, I would go to liferay.com. Sorry to push you to
that product, but I would have to search for the answer the same as
you.
Thanks
