Acceptable Events Delay

Jump to solution

Hello,

in OMi Infrastructure Settings I found this setting:

"Acceptable Events Delay"

Can somebody explain what this means? Is it related to OMi events or when do I need this setting?

Kind regards,
Harald

Hello Harald,

I tried to search internally for this “Acceptable Events Delay” and there is one CPE case you can read more about it. It is QCIM1I113125.

In BSM we have a global infrastructure setting called 'Acceptable events delay'. This setting allows to configure the threshold for samples timestamp. The samples with a timestamp older than this 'Acceptable events delay' are supposed to be discarded by Alert Engine, i.e. not considered by alerts calculation. This setting is 60 minutes by default.

To reduce it e.g. to 5 minutes please open Admin > Platform > Setup and Maintenance > Foundations: Alerting > Alerting - Event handling. BSM has to be restarted in order for this setting to have an effect.

So as you can read it is metric related thing thus what I assume is that these settings were just taken into OMi but seems not applicable.

Hello Rosen,

thanks for the explanation. Can you also post an external link? quixy.deu.hp.com is not accessable from "outside" 😉

Kind regards,
Harald

Hello Harald,

Actually there is no QCCR about this. I read the explanation in CPE case for another topic. I posted it just because I know that you are HPE employee and you can access it J.
