HA_VIRTUAL_IP ops bridge 2018.11 query

Hi All,

We are haivnging 3 master node for CDF/suit 2018.11.

So we need to have HA_Virtual_IP, free VIP in same subnet as master node and should be resolvable to FQDN.

Could you please provide detail on below point.

1. Can we have public IP which intern talk to internal IP via LB. by default 443 would be open between public IP to internal IP. suppose master node in 10.100.30.*  subnet and we can get public VIP as 10.900.1.1, which talk to internal IP 10.100.30.1 via F5 port 443.

If we go with above which port need to be open between public VIP to internal IP?

2. How to get free VIP and should resolve to FQDN, and should be in same subnet of master node without tagging this free VIP to any server?

3. Any idea which port it uses to talk between free VIP and master nodes?

Re: HA_VIRTUAL_IP ops bridge 2018.11 query

Hi,

Based on the defect reported previously QCCR8B29824, the technical solution description in order to configure ha_virtual_ip and master ip under the same network subnet, it was adding subnet precheck for HA_VIRTUAL_IP. You could consult about this CR.

Besides, if you want a public IP which internally talk to internal IP via LB, you need to specify the HA_VIRTUAL_IP or LOAD_BALANCER_HOST setting in the install.properties file or use the --ha-virtual-ip or --load-balancer-host command line option if you want to extend to a multi-master cluster later during the installation. Type "/usr/local/ITOM_Suite_Foundation/install --help" to show the help.

For port information, you could consult in: https://docs.microfocus.com/itom/Operations_Bridge_Manager:2018.11/OMi/AdminGuide/IntroAndMisc/port_manage

If the problem still exists in a supported environment or you want ports additional info, I think you should contact Micro Focus Support.

Thanks.
