Limitation in Log file monitor extension

Hi All,

Is there any limitation in monitoring the log files with different extensions.?

For Example we have a requirement to monitor a log file with extension .0 , also it has a date format. So a script has been created to get the file name.

But it is not returing any alerts, whereas if we change the extension to .txt the monitor works.

Kindly let me know whether any limitations in file extension.

Thanks,

Re: Limitation in Log file monitor extension

Hello Arun,

I assume that you are using SiteScope for monitoring, since you mentioned creating a monitor.

File with extension as '0' does not seem to be a valid log file type. It moreover looks to be a Linux Operating System file. Probably that's why Log FIle monitor is not able to read that.

Did you try using "File Monitor"?
