OMi 10.01: Event Perspective Stalls Periodically

For no apparent reason, the OMi 10 Event Perspective stalls occassionally, and no new events are coming in.

Besides the opr tools for archiving, closing and deleting events from the backend DB, what could be the potential cause of this?

Has anyone encountered this before? If so, how was it solved?

Thanks,

~ Mike

Of course, you will want to be sure all the processes are running.  That aside...I have had the same symptom and in my case this fixed it:

/opt/HP/BSM/opr/support/opr-jmxClient.sh -s GW.FQDN:4447 -b "opr.console:name=BusinessLogicDelegateMBean" -m reinitIncidentCache -r

Propably the java process takes too much heap space. You can check the log "bsm/log/opr-backend/jvmstatistics" and see if free heap space shrinks and suddenly is high again. This shows that the process is crashed and starts from scratch..

In BMS/bin/ there are *.ini files to control the heap space usage. You may need to set a higher amount fo memory to be used in "opr_vm_paras.ini".

This often helps to solve any event related problems..
