(OMi) Support Tip: TraceGUI

Hello,

OMi is shipped with a TraceGUI tool, which is an automated tool for debugging and analyzing different issues.

The tool is located underneath: %TOPAZ_HOME%\opr\suppor\opr-tracegui

The tool is really handy as you can use it to enable DEBUG for different problem areas just with couple of selections, instead of going thru the file system and editing configuration files separately.

For example if you have a problem with the Event Processing, you can enable debug for all the needed configuration file via the tool as follows:

Open TraceGUI and do the following selection from the dropdown menus:

Product Area Logging > DPS > Event Flow > Enable

This will enable DEBUG for the related configuration files on your DPS.

You have the option then to collect automatically all the related files, instead the entire LogGraber:

Product Area Logging > DPS > Event Flow > Collect

Another powerful feature is that the tool can be used for analyzing different issue (from already collected data or directly on the file system). For example you can load a flowtrace log file and analyze it via the tool for delays in the Event Processing:

Analyze > Detect Event Delay in FlowTrace

Besides the fact that there are many other Product Areas for which you can enable DEBUG automatically and collect only the relevant log files and also analyzing other main product area issues, the tool has other great options, like doing tail on an open fail, bookmarks with commonly used files, which can be loaded quickly, you can customize it by coloring and filtering the log file lines as per your preferences and others.

I hope that you find it useful.

Dilyan Angelov

Re: (OMi) Support Tip: TraceGUI

Hello Alexy_b,

The tool is not applicable to containers.

You could generate a LogGrabber in a containerized install and then use TraceGUI to analyze the data on another system though.
