OMi user action restrictions

Is there a way to allow an OMi user to perform all normal and customary actions but block their ability to correlate events?

Thanks!

Thanks,
Michele

Re: OMi user action restrictions

Hello,

OMi enables you to fine-tune permissions management by applying permissions within roles.
Permissions enable you to restrict the scope of a role. You can assign roles to users and groups
enabling access to specific areas of OMi.
Permissions are organized in categories closely following the OMi menu structures, which you can
view by clicking Workspaces and Administration. Permissions consist of resources, for example,
User Components, to which operations, for example Delete, are applied. Categories make it easier to
identify and select the area of OMi you want to apply permissions to.

Please refer to OMi Administration Guide (10.11) page 520, also you can check the OMi onlie help and finding information by sarching "Roles and Permissions".

Re: OMi user action restrictions

David,

Thank you for your response. I found this information earlier, but can't figure out how to allow all of the following permissions on events assigned to the user except creating and removing relations between events. For your awareness, I'm currently trying to do this in BSM  9.25.221, Build 378. We're moving to OMi 10, but not for a few months.

From Pg 563 in the OMi Administration Guide 10.10

Change Properties

Priority > Enables changing the priority of events.

Solution > Enables changing the solution of events.

Title > Enables changing the title of events.

Custom > Attributes Enables creating, updating, and deleting custom attributes for events.

Description > Enables changing the description of events.

Severity > Enables changing the severity of events.

Event Relations > Enables creating and removing relations between events.

Annotations > Enables creating, updating, and deleting annotations for events.

Life Cycle Operations

Assign To > Enables assigning events to another user.

Close > Enables closing events.

Close Transferred > Enables closing transferred escalated events.

Transfer Control > Enables escalating events by transferring control.

Work on / Resolve > Enables setting the life cycle status of events to In Progress or Resolved.

Reopen > Enables setting the life cycle status of Closed events to Open.

Thanks,

Michele

Thanks,
Michele
