Time based suppression

Hi All

I need to suppress certain events which arrives between 12 AM and 7 AM daily.

I checked Event suppression, Time based automation etc, but nothing could achieve my results.

I know it can be achieved by Event Processing customizations using groovy script but if anyone has done earlier please can you share.

If there is any methodology in OMi or in OA agent please let me know.

Thanks for your response, it was really helpful.

But we do not want to use Event processing customization to add custom attribute to set up suppression, since I feel all events will pass through this event processing customization script and this will make OMi performance going down.

I am not sure which OMi process or Event pipeline is responsible for Event processing customization, do you have any idea on this.

Re: Time based suppression

Hello,

The process that handles EPI is the opr-scripting-host on the DPS. There are 4 different EPI steps inside the OMi pipeline. Please refer to the extensibility guide of OMi for the EPI scripting.

In my environment we allways see opr-scripting host is high all the time, more than 50% even though we had not written any Event processing customization groovy scripts.

Does that mean OMi has embedded scripts where each event is been passed through.

While looking at event pipeline if I want to suppress certain events coming from only one server where I can put the script for increasing opr-scripting performance.

I assume it should be after CI/ETI resolution, but can you confirm.

Re: Time based suppression

Hello,

I am not aware of default EPI scripts available. You can check your EPI UI page and see are there scripts active there. When it comes to discarding events the earlier in the pipeline you discard the event the better because the same event will not need to be processed by following EPI steps. If the event must be resolved first then put it just after the CI resolution yes.
