Add support for Syslog to OO Central

We would like to see support for syslog in OO Central. Currently all logging information is stored in a number of logfile. for some of these messages it would be very useful to add these to syslog. From syslog these messages could be picked up by other tools such as SIEM (security information event management).

Preferably the type of log messages should be configurable to allow only selection of messages to be forwarded. Especially the user login messages would be very useful for audit purposes.

maybe possible as of today.

OO is using log4j. so in theory when OO is using an log4j version that is up to date you just need to config log4j.properties

see here

filtering of messages to appender would follow standard log4j logic

OO Central already offers audit capability and this should be used instead of creating another implementation for syslog: https://docs.microfocus.com/itom/Operations_Orchestration:2020.02/AuditEvents

Declining this idea for now.
