DB Connection failing while installing HP OO Central 9.00

Jump to solution

Hi All,

I am new to HP OO and also to Windows platforms. Mostly i am unix guy.

I am trying to install HP OO 9.00 on Win2k8 R2.

I have setup MS SQL Server 2008 R2 successfully. When i provide the details of MS SQL Server during the Central installation, it fails during "Test Database Connection" and i get the error popup saying

"Could not connect to database. Log files at: "C:\Users\.........". Would you like to view it?"

I have attached the screen shot and also the log file.

I have also disabled UAC and Firewall.

Any help would be highly appreciated.

Thanks,

Ashraf

You need to create a database for oo prior to running the installer

Wouldnt your instance be mssqlserver (assuming that is your instance name) and the database be what youre going to utilize as the db for oo?

Yes, "mssqlserver" is my MS SQL Server instance name.

I am using this DB instance on the same host for OO.

Attached the screenshot with the details that i am providing for OO during installation.

Thanks,

Ashraf

Login to sql server management studio (ssms) - probably under - start > program files > microsoft sql server
Once logged in

There is no User defined DBs under Databases.

Find attached the screen shot for the same.
